Why?

Friday, March 25, 2005

I'm starting a blog.

Yes, I know that the vast majority of the world won't care, and in the end this will probably be read by my wife and mother for a few weeks before they lose interest and leave me here talking to myself.

So what's the point? Why am I doing this?

Because I love food. Because I used to hate my body. Because I'm finally getting the hang of managing my weight while at the same time cooking the best food I've ever made. And I hope that in this space that I can share a few recipes, a few tidbits on managing to eat well without turning into Jabba the Hut, and a few anecdotes on my experience losing weight and struggling with overeating.

Bon Appetit.

I say...
Not true!
1. The world will care. I see it in your future! :)
2. Your Mama will never loose interest on anything that comes from you! (I am sure your wife feels the same way!)
3. I love you tons!

William:
I very much enjoyed reading your recipes and insights into your struggle with weight. As you probably remember, I too am a food addict. I have lost 150 pounds since you last saw me, so I know how difficult it can be, how wonderful it can be, and how terrifying it can be to relapse. Remember, it's not about being perfect--it's about being peristent. Bravo William!!

Hey Will!
Nice blog. I just recently decided to give up sweets for a year. Exceptions are fruit-based things (ex. frozen o.j. = two thumbs up) and a few beverages (i heart hot chocolate). See, I decided that my biggest downfall to healthy eating was snacking. I snack a lot, and when it's mostly cookies and junk food and such. Hopefully I will have dropped a few by the time we visit at the 4th. Feeling California, Looking Minnesota, Lisa
