Many years later...

Lucy is 16 months old now, and is a true joy to behold. Fatherhood has been a continuous adventure and a full-time passion. These last few years have been a blessing of the highest order.
Speaking of obcessions, I've started a new blog devoted to my new project, the construction of a tribute to the Lotus 7. You can follow my progress here.
My family has moved out of our little condo and into a wonderful new home. Of course the kitchen is light years better than my old digs, with double ovens, tons of cabinet space and lighting galore. Now that I'm in a single-family home, I can finally cook over open flames! Speaking of which...
I've moved on to an exciting new opportunity as an engineer for In Zone Brands, makers of Bubba Kegs and the Bubba Keg Convection Grill (shameless plug). My new position has me working on a variety of hydration products, as well as a line grilling and smoking equipment. Obviously it's an awesome fit and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.
I'm still struggling with my weight, having gained more than my share over the last few years. Jenny and I still cook quite a bit, and we're still making healthy food as often as we can.
In any case, life at the new NTSC world headquarters is better than ever. Hope you and yours are doing well.
-William

Dear William:
This past weekend that you came to visit was a real treat for all of us. Lucy is adorable and we had so much fun with her. The same for Joannie and her children. What a joy these kids have brought into our lives. Unspeakable joy ! We were also happy to see Yaya and of course, Joe, Jenny & Matt were very missed.
You might have been fat but you sure look fabulous now and I, specially, am so proud of you and the great job you are doing in bringing up your little girl.I just can't believe what a devoted dad you are .
On behalf of all the family here, we want to thank you so much for visiting us. We miss you so much.
Hod Bless you, honey, and please keep us posted on everything that goes on in your lives. Love to Jenny,

How funny that you posted an update recently and just today I thought, "I wonder if he's posted anything in the last year?" and came to check.

I like your blog! I am going to take a stab at the terra cotta smoker this weekend, and I have been reading your posts about that project. I have a question that I am interested in your opinion on:
The terra cotta pots I bought are a little smaller (I think the are the 16" ones). I found a grill grate that fits perfectly in the pot - but there is one concern: This grill grate is sold by Weber as the bottom grill grate for their standard charcoal grills. It is obviously heavy duty, being designed to have burning hot coals on it all the time. My question is this: Do you think this grill grate is safe to cook food on? I think that it almost has to be, but I have not been able to find confirmation of that anywhere. I certainly won't hold you accountable, but I thought you would have a well thought out and well reasoned opinion.
Thanks in advance. You can reply to adamchose@gmail.com - I really appreciate it!

It is absolutely safe to cook on. It's the same material as the top grates, just thicker.
I'd bet my food on it.
